Tina Cooley is far more than just a “cat lady”. Tina is a long-time resident of Huntsville but grew up in Cedar Rapids, IA. She has a love for cars and racing and even named one of her children after a famous driver. Tina works for Hudson Alpha in the Finance department and she also goes into detail about some of the great work that her company is doing. But, we certainly made sure to spend a good deal of time talking about her idea for starting the Cattyshack, how the Cattyshack is different in how they do business, we talks about the process of fostering cats, and, more importantly, the process for adoption. It was a great episode!
Cattyshack, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of shelter cats in Alabama. We provide food and medical supplies to our foster homes, as well as pay for all vet care. The Cattyshack Lounge, located at Lowe Mill, 2211 Seminole Drive, Studio 1062, Huntsville, AL 35805, is a resource for fundraising, socializing, and a way to increase cat adoptions.
The Cattyshack Lounge is designed to allow humans to relax, decompress, and enjoy everything from bouncy kittens to fat furry lugs. The donation you make for your reservation includes a beverage and a pre-packaged snack and goes right back into our rescue to pay vet bills and buy food, litter and medications. So find a comfy spot and wait for the magic to happen!! Schedule your visit on our Reservations Page.
Cat adoptions involve filling out a non-binding application. Please plan to come back to the Lounge at a later date (usually the following weekend) to pick up your kitty. Please understand that only one volunteer is working applications, and it takes time to diligently process each one. This may include phone or in-person interviews, vet reference checks, contacting a personal references, landlords and apartment management, requesting photos of your home or even doing a home visit.
