Dr. Weaver has also been granted fellowship in the American College of Surgeons. This is a prestigious honor conferred to surgeons who meet a strict selection criteria. The letters “FACS” after a surgeon’s name indicates that he or she is a Fellow of the ACS. Fellows are board-certified surgeons whose education, training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct are reviewed and consistent with the high standards of the ACS. The American College of Surgeons is dedicated to improving the care of the surgical patient and to safeguarding standards of care in an optimal and ethical practice environment.

Beyond his professional achievements Dr. Tony Weaver is particularly proud of his Native American heritage (Eastern Cherokee, Choctaw & Creek), he is the first and only Native American to become a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon. However, the most meaningful role in his life is not that of a physician or surgeon it is the role as husband and father. His wife Jenny & four children remain the most important part of his life. Dr. Tony would like for everyone to know that, “I love people and caring for them as a surgeon is an honor and a privilege, but that doesn’t define me. I am defined by how my family sees me, by my role as a father and spouse but most importantly by my life as a Christian.” Dr. Weaver is forever indebted to his family, community, the patients, nurses, staff, teachers, attending surgeons and his fellow colleagues who have & continue to teach and inspire him.
